@VkWE1nn-jzy I sure didn't wait. A few months of severance is not worth being laid off just before the holidays when no one is hiring. Not to mention competing with your former coworkers for the same 5 job postings right afterwards.

Does it mean that if I do not hear anything from my boss by now, I will be at least safe in the next few months?
You should know if you a job or not before deal close but depends if manager tells you. Everyone director and above knows by now.
You will know before Nov 5. Likely 3-4 weeks before something happens.
