Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Land director fired?

Is this true? Why did they get fired? I guess this starts the rumored land re-org.

Can’t believe they put her in that role. She does not know what she does not know!

So Abbott joins MOC in Feb 2018 and promptly replaces the land director with land management experience with one his his Aggie cronies with zero land experience. Marathon as it was is dead. What a horrible management decision. They will crash and burn.

KW was awesome. The good old days are gone. Get ready to be miserable. So disrespectful to place a person with zero land experience in that role. Watch productivity will fall through the floor. Unhappy people = unmotivated people

Very telling during the Q&A today.

Abbott came off as a major tool bag.

changing it for you @VkM8ijt-jvs:

"I suspect we will see substantially MORE turnover than the previously eyebrow-raising rate."

KW was respected by land, but he worked with a group of ghouls that probably couldn't stand someone with a spine. LC and KH catfights coming to a Tower corridor near you, soon!

This will make Abbott and Kimberly very unpopular. Keith was loved by his group. I suspect we will see a lot of turnover in land now.

How do you put a non landman in position to run the land organization? Terrible choice. I have already applied at three companies. If any work out then I’m out of here!

Abbot is liked. Doesn’t make sense. Where did the new director come from?

Fired, laid off, replaced without consent. Choose your label. Don't know reason. Abbott may have felt like he had to change something, anything, to make his presence felt. Getting rid of a popular Land Director probably wasn't the best choice. Replacing him with Kimberly Hill doesn't look like a winning trade.
