Can somebody tell me what do you need to do to get promoted here?! I can tell you being among the best at your job, always going the extra mile, always helping others is definitely not one of the ways to secure a promotion. Trust me. Things like that mean nothing. From what I can see, the only way to get ahead here is to either know somebody or be related to somebody's somebody. Favoritism and nepotism run rampant here, and I am about ready to throw in a towel and go somewhere else where they will appreciate my work and my contributions to the company.

Forget about it.I've had colleagues worked so long and still remain in the same position no matter how good you are.anyway its not the same anymore. This company is gonna get sold in a few years time.so what use is a promotion now especially when depts are gone or missing ppl.You just can't function completely like before.
You're absolutely right! more than that, if you are too good at your job, you are very likely to suffer character assassination and many humiliations there.
