Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

There is no 9/28 plan. Info to go out on on the 27th or early 28th.

Yes, there are changes.

Yes, some people will be let go.

Yes, some folks will be terminated.

Yes, DCEH is belt-tightening since they bought EDMC.

The changes are mostly in closing campuses.

The One University approach makes sense.

Centralizing HR makes sense.

Quit your b--chin' and go teach students and do your job well or go take a hike.

The scoop as determined based on facts given via news and interdepartmental memos, and nice discussion throughout this site:

Looks like the plan all along was to wait for the Dept of Ed to approve Pell Grants for short term certificate programs, move online, and get rid of the overhead of on ground campuses, full time faculty etc, I predict AI as it has been known closes completely by the end of the year.

Ok, does DCEH need AiO because they already have AUO?

Corporate has mandated all Ai campuses switch to semesters, AU is already on semesters.

AU has academic accreditation and are in warning but AiO is on just cause the final step before pulling accreditation.

I don't know what's worse, being let go or being terminated. The OP acts like they know something, but they don't. They'll probably be gone in the next round of cuts and then they'll sing a different song.

This post wreaks of DCEH upper management. Totally disconnected from what's actually happening to morale at the "remaining" campuses. Sorry folks... the good ole boys club doesn't give a flying FV<k about us. Don't be surprised... be looking for a new job - practically anything will be better than working for these a$$holes.

Any word on semester conversion for Ai? It was all the rage a month ago, although AiP AiO acting president didn’t mention it to the visiting Middle States team.

It’s always been about online.

The one university.

Keep closing campuses and force students to go online. Some students will leave. But that’s offset with the more profitable online student. Less overhead per student.

Close campuses, don’t pay vendors.

And by belt tightening, you mean cutting front line employees to hire executive bosom buddies at 100K salaries? Sorry calling BS

Go back and read David Halperin's original article of May 16 on this whole mess. A lot of things will make more sense.

Oh what a tangled Web we weave...

David Halperin you need to check on DCEH’s relationship with BR’s father’s business. Something smells there. Really smells based on another one of their bright ideas that they had to can. Leaks!!
