My boss' boss is flying into town tomorrow to talk to our department.
Rumors are more layoffs.
Will update tomorrow :-)

So, what happened?
What your boss boss had to tell you?
There may be someone working from home from there but there's no office in Wisconsin.

Seriously never heard of office in Stevens Point, WI. Are you a troll? If not , then you work on something that is no major importance. You will not be missed. Good luck
Perhaps the vp didn't want to deliver the news by phone or webex. I've had to cut people Thai didn't deserve it, I could have simply sent them the meeting invite with hr, but I felt I owed it to them to look them in the eye.
Old fashioned? Maybe.
Courageous and one of the signs of a good manager? I certainly think so.
Maybe CA didn't care, but individual managers still do.
Which BU?
That's a perfect example of why CA is a failure. They failed to embrace the modern world. CA executives still want to live in the 80s.
The same happened with my team in May. VP came to our office deliver the news in person. The thing is:
Our team had some counterparties that were remote WFH. When the meeting happened, we did a call with the remote workers and all the other ones in the room.
Why in the world a VP needs to fly (spend money with hotel, cab and airfare) to layoff an entire team? Could not be done in a call, the same way remote people got the news?
CA has office in WI? What product?
