The writing has been on the wall for a long time, and we were just too blind to see it.. Why all this cost cutting? Lack of supplies, uniforms, loss of benefits and time off.. THEY knew what was coming, they know that spending $$$ on operations will NEVER bring a return back on the money (what all biz and investors look at -RETURNS on the $$$).
Verizon is launching 5G in 4 cities on Oct 1. More importantly, this is being done in cities where Verizon is NOT the local phone/fios company. Basically if you read up on it, the 5G is going to replace any wires into the house, any need for the existing cable infrastructure. Speeds of 300M up to 1GIG, Streaming TV services, phone service.. and thats just to the residential customer..
Now over here in NYC they are running their new 5G fiber cables up street lights, poles, where ever. Once they string up the Bronx, its all over for us. Where ever they have not put fios in, wont get fios..It will be the 5G antenna inside the house .
What does that mean for us? Theyve already taken enough of our subs where fios is available, and now they will take a lot more where fios is not installed and never will be.
How do we compete with a company that brings in 10 BILLION DOLLARS a month in revenue?
The 5G is already proven, can run driver less cars, let doctors operate remotely, you get it. Even trump wanted to nationalize 5G due to its importance.
We are just here as a band aid, keep things running until they feel the effect of Verizons 5G. Heck they may even copy it, or cut a deal with AT&T when they bring it here.. In the end it means they dont need us!
Sometime in 2019 it will launch here.. Watch what happens in San Diego and Sacramento.. This aint the Death Star Directv dishes in the 90's where we won everybody back. This is the wireless future we all denied was possible (remember the loud mouths "yo they still need a wire" Nope.. they dont.
All they need is a microcell on a pole. And it aint gonna be us the installs or maintains them.
At least I still have the memories of the good days before all this new tech ruined it for us..
Start looking and bettering yourself. They aint gonna be much of us left in the next 3 years
