Thread regarding DowDuPont layoffs

Huge layoffs coming to DowDuPont

This is really, really important. It will bring many, many layoffs, so folks better be prepared for what's coming our way.

This sentence should tell you all: "Breen had committed to cutting more than $3 billion in facility closures, layoffs, R&D lab consolidation, and other expense cuts to make the spin-offs more profitable for investors."

Aren't Americans getting sick of this yet? Corporations are no longer loyal to their employees. Laying off workers, cutting wages, closing plants, spinning off entire divisions and outsourcing workers/ production have become a disgusting norm in the relentless quest to maximize share holder value. Corporations are no longer (since the 1980's) satisfied with simply making a profit. With each of these reductions the US economy, job market, personal wealth and wages have taken a hit and each have added up to create the inequality that we see today.

We need to take action now to remove/replace congress members (both republican and democrat) who are obviously blindly loyal to corporations over the American people. Otherwise, pretty soon all the country will be left with are 300 million angry underemployed citizens and a few well to do elite. Good luck governing and raising families that mess.

Our country no longer has the manufacturing industries that used to be the lifeblood of the middle-class. In times of crisis we are now left with a system that cannot provide the basic necessities (food, clothing, medical supplies, antibiotics etc.) that the country needs. Corporations have proven time and time again that they care more about maximizing short term profits over keeping Americans employed. They no longer believe that whats good for the country is good for the corporation. Its time the government implement automatic provisions/laws that allow the government directly tax and compete (up to a certain percentage) against corporations that choose to reduce their investments in US(a). This is critical to preventing the financial impacts and supply shortages that we see today.
