I’ve always hated the DeVry logo. Can anyone explain what it is supposed to represent? Is the missing chunk of the (fugly) shield supposed to be “you” as in the student? I really hope that Cogswell does new branding, and if the don’t get rid of the name entirely, at least make a new logo. If you know the reference, it looks like the Decepticon logo from Transformers. If you don’t know it, look it up online—they were the bad guys in an 80s cartoon about fighting alien robots.

It is supposed to represent a book. One of the faculty of the early accounting company created it.
By “strategic work” do you mean massive layoffs and DCEH/AI campus closures? He could have just stayed with us and done it here. On that board they seem to be blaming someone else (BR). I wouldn’t give RP credit for masterminding anything other than incompetently slogging his way through life. If he’s secretly some kind of evil genius I would really be surprised.
it is amazing what tremendous strategic work RP and his marketing sidekick accomplishing these days at dream center these days.
Thank you! It predates my time with the company so I wasn't there for the rollout. It is interesting since I've looked at it for years and never thought that it might be a book. Nowadays it's actually tempting to ask the question, "what's a book?"--particularly since they got rid of all the physical library books, and all course books are electronically loaded into the course shells! All the more reason for them to revise/replace it.
The logo/shield is supposed to represent knowledge, and be reminiscent of a book that's being opened.
Source: was an employee at the time it was unveiled, had to have it explained to me.
Lol at RP designing the logo—it would be apropos but that would be giving him too much credit for having some kind of talent, though.
it might have been designed by the great RP
