Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Completely useless managers

Anybody noticed how useless managers at ADP are? I can't claim that for all of them, but the ones I came in contact with certainly are. It's like they are only there specifically to work the numbers and when something goes wrong calm the clients down. None of them seemed either willing or knowledgeable enough to assist employers they are supposed to be managing.

Not to mention unrealistic expectations. The workload increases constantly yet the pay remains the same.

How people can rave about this place is beyond me.

My experience was that there were good managers, some whose hands were tied by upper management, and some that were clueless which were typically those hired from outside of ADP. It is a well known fact within the company that promotions are more about who you know rather than what you know. Upper management is rather clueless about what happens on the front lines where employees truly KNOW ADP's clients and work directly with them. ADP is a customer service company, not a technology company. Carlos doesn't know that. Can someone please tell him?

@VZO657R-1dxi - I agree. Not all are the same. Had bad. Had good & really great. The bad helped me learn to appreciate the great.

Ever since ADP started to restructure 15 years ago that also became the mission statement re-structure , that is why ADP has such incompetent management, no one works up the ladder any more managers come off the street unqualified, or an id--t doing something they have never done before, that is why ADP management is slow.

Not sure which group you are in, but I'm a manager I work with the associates every day. I make sure I understand what they are doing, is there an easier way to do their job. Can we prevent some if e systemic issues, these are some of the things that I try to do. Oh yes I complain too upper management about the lack of resources and the amount of work. The two most important things are the associates and the clients.

Not all off the adp managers are what you've stated.

Managers at ADP are there to check on the progress of employee work, they are not there to help anyone. The employees are expected to do their jobs without help. That's what they were hired for. Right? If they can't do their jobs, then just what kind of professionals are they?

ADP managers should not be knowledgable. They are there to make sure that employees meet their deadlines and metrics. If managers are knowledgable about the work that their employees do, they might ease off the metrics and make proper adjustments of deadline dates.

Managers knowledgable and willing to help? Give me a break! That smells like another company, not ADP.
