There's is a lot of anxiousness, fear, vile energy and company bashing on this forum right now, so to move in another direction, could you share with us what got you working in this firm and what keeps you going, and still working here?
For me, it was and still is the money, and i still like what i do, but this uncertainty drives me crazy.
People in our team were proud of what they did, even if mgmt s---ed big hairy donkey dongs. We could just give them reports and they would leave us alone. We worked hard for success because we were loyal to each other, and believed in achieving goals. They money was fine but no better than elsewhere.
As for those working from home, at least 75% were goof-offs, and you know it. That is why Yahoo and Google canned the practice.

After spending 50 years in super maximum security prison in Uzbekhistan for a crime I did not commit, eating rats and c---roaches raw to survive, fending off prison gangs, and having my soul crushed when the prison warden put me in solitary confinement for 10 years because he feared that I would blow the cover off of the geo-political conspiracy that he had masterminded, the modern software sweatshop is paradise, relatively speaking.

Op i feel your anxiousness. Look at the infighting on this board last few days. This board is great for humor, but many are so on edge to insult colleagues anonymously.... and heck for all they know work together. We all had purpose at CA, and soon for thousands it will be gone. Coming to work with insubordination from leadership is terrible feeling. I honestly don’t know how I did it. On a related note, GDL is the only true leader CA had.
Convenient location on Long Island instead of working in the city. Comparable pay.
