How many know what our goals are? How many of us even know where we stand before being pulled in a room and put on a plan for not meeting goals that we don’t even know about? Then how many people are kept around because they’re funny or are bros with those in charge. It’s a joke.

Signing up students to an animation/game art program because they like to play video games and used to draw busty women or dragons in high school (before they quit) is just so wrong.
Basically they provide you with as much training as they see fit. After that it’s up to you and whatever support you receive from your co-workers.
You are expected to have a conversation to get to know them, build trust, find out what they want to study and do with their lives and address their concerns so that you overcome their ridiculous excuses as to why they can’t or won’t start school by leading and inspiring them.
The demographic that you are given to work with are individuals that are often times just flat out incompetent in many areas. At the end of the day you are accountable to enroll and help these people succeed. You can have a wonderful conversation with them and never hear from them again. In my honest opinion I believe these people would like to do something with their lives but they do not actually WANT to. There is a big difference when you would like to do something versus actually WANTING it.
Now this is me speaking from frustration. I feel like they don’t deserve to be given the opportunity because most of them have bad attitudes, are superficially grateful, do not listen very well and use profane language during the conversation. I would love the chance to ask on an unrecorded line if they understand they are talking to someone at a university that is genuinely trying to help them and if that is how they would act at a job interview to make $50,$60 or $70,000 a year?
Here’s my final words. Unfortunately most but not all will continue to be unsuccessful in life until they resolve whatever psychological issues they have which I suspect is some sort of fear, doubt or combination of both. I hope the best for all.
Ever seen American History X? You'd be perfect for the curb scene.
