Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Has this place become a liability when applying for a new job?

Heard from a few people I should leave it off my resume when applying for a new job. Is this true?

I got another job specifically to bury AI on my resume. It’s embarrassing and has definitely tarnished my credentials.

I was laid off fro EDMC a few years ago... when looking for a new job, there were a couple of companies who told me no thanks specifically because of EDMC's reputation. But again, local Pittsburgh employers might be aware of how awful the company is, but the vast majority of employers don't know or care, aren't close to the misery like you are, or realize that you are not the person in charge who drove the company into the ground. I would keep it on your resume if it is directly related to your career field. And with each passing day, month, year, EDMC/DCEH will fall lower down on your resume.

Adjunct at AiO is $1500 per class, plan on spending 15-25 hours per week depending on size of class and if your in a Pinnacle course, those are time intensive.

For adjuncts, the hourly pay is lower than what you'd find at a Community College.

1krb - I would beg to differ on that - the pay is not good - maybe for some - not for many --

Probably because other places can’t come close to what many people make here. Despite it being a boiler room it does pay quite well.

So you've decided to stay put in this institution of ever diminishing expectations and opportunities even while searching and finding many opportunities that don't come close the heaven on Earth called DCEH.

Why does this sound like bull sh-- to me?

No, for the “normal” employee no one cares as long as you can do your job and have appropriate credentials.

Administrators are screwed. Schools fail because of the administration who poorly run the organization, only similar organizations would hire the positions of dean and up.

FYI the world does not revolve around DCEH or EDMC. I’ve had no problem job searching or finding many opportunities even while sill employed here.
