Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

What will happen to our customers?

We have many customers in the EMEA region and all of them still not aware of the situation. And projects are still going on without any effect. There are many prospects which were very close to being won and I really wonder what will happen after 7th November. Most of the people will be fired and all possible prospects will be lost cause customers never will want to go ahead with the risky product(s). Broadcom will try to sell off some products however because product future is not clear, Broadcom will never find a rich customer to sell this product.

I really wonder whether there are some people in similar situation which they are still working on the projects or possible prospects etc.

EMEA customers must be really stupid. How could they not be aware of the fact that CA is being sold? That there will be likely repercussions?

Or, more likely, CA is not a strategic vendor and they feel they can easily replace CA. That's why they may not be "aware", or if they are, not care.

To be jomest:with the pattern emerging in India you will have a core team of development+SE, and some SME to handle complicate situations or the top customers, and then oitsourced support, for the most part, and outsourced services. This is the only way you can get profit margins of 55% as stated in the recent letter sent to the soon-to-be-sold CA Services.

Whether customers like Daimler, BNL, Intesa, British Airways, BBVA or BNP, to quote just some important EMEA, will be happy talking day to day to an underpsid support engineer or an even less motivated Services person, it is a mistery. Logic says this will fail. But Broadcom has a reputation of defying logic. Only time will tell.

For those who are "still not aware" it will be a rude awakening with a hangover effect.
