Even for Cogswell College admissions is going up, but retention is bad. The new DOA (that is loud as fck) is enrolling every student that walks into their doors even if students don’t meet portfolios requirements. It’s very unfortunate but the new administration is hurting the little reputation that this small school have.
The stock rose at least in part due to share repurchases, which Adtalem borrowed to pay for. It does not necessarily mean the company is in great shape.

It's an old story: admissions up, retention down. This suggests that admissions is come-one-come-anyone regardless of skills or competency, then drop or fail out. And, of those who manage to sc-ape by, they are a mixed bag: from the few who could go anywhere and do well, to the many struggling to survive, to the significant number of "persisted" students with basic (il)literacy.
