the court has to approve the closing list and Sears doesn't go to court until 2pm ET today.
They usually announce store closures in the late morning (afternoon for Pacific and Mountain time sones) They never announce right at the beginning of the day.

Not true, they have to wait for a court order before they can announce anything and that changes the way everything is done
