Several directors and many long term employees were laid off 10/29/2018, with their last day at the company 11/2/2018. Cost reduction from their hefty salaries, bonuses, and benefits, however, most important to Alaska is the management head count loss that improves the company's rank to investors. Additionally many open positions will not be filled. Union (pilots, agents, flight attendants, call center) positions not impacted.
