The previous weeks were horrible for me and since a few days I know my fate. I'm of type STAY. I'm fine with that although my role will change a little but not too much. I don't expect that things will be better in the future or will improve but I think I can live quite good with that and beside that I think it's worth having a look at the new org and luckily I have some RSUs to vest in spring. But I have experienced the uncertainty for weeks now and it was a real horror for me and also my family. A few days ago I decided to call my manager to get clarity because uncertainty became a pain to a level that was really threatening me. He was so kind to tell me my status and the upcoming changes. Even if I would have been told that I'm of typ "TERM" ... everything is better than again weeks of uncertainty and anxiety. So if uncertainty is - like it was for me - a real pain I recommend to ask (phone! not email or text message) your manager and get clarity. It's all set. It's all planned and decided. Depending on the relationship with your manager you will be amazed by the level of detail about your future what she/he probably will share with you.
So, go and ask (especially in countries where a day 1 notification is not possible due to legal aspects) if you're curious about your future. The clarity will at least give you some extra weeks/months to look for a new job in case of beging a TERM.
