Before the fist day of microns takeover of what was IM flash technologies (the most successful joint venture) they announce they are getting rid of equipment and equipment techs. Great way to start off on
20 reqs from my team have gone to India all of sudden. My new manager isn't sure about his own position in company after 6 months. Not feeling very confident about the prospects here. There is no team feeling/culture anyway, so it should be easy for me to walk out if I get another job.
Company is hiring lot of people from China and still outsourcing projects to China. They stole our IP and we are still outsourcing to them. It is a big mistake. They will realize at some point but it will be very late.
Heard more RIF coming. Targeting people with years of service and age equal to 75 or over. So sad. Hire young people with PHD's and pay them more.
In 2019, will employees who are placed under psp be terminated without severance package?
I left Micron last december after being offered a golden handshake.actually its a nice place to work but recently getting more restricted and management s---s. promotion was slow. anyways no regret leaving.
It is true that recent changes in management make big impact on the company and staff. People like to leave asap
Micron management can be incredibly stupid at times! Hope for the best and expect anything. Do not rule out the absurd!
Micron has been sabotaged by China. Look at the number of people from China hired by this company before bad things happened.
You had the courage to leave and you are doing better for yourself. That's great. Other employees feel they can't find something else as good. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a lot out there that will present you with a much happier work life and that is important
I quit Micron because they would not lay me off nor pay me a valued wage. When the big 2016 layoff came I was begging for it.... No such luck. I quit, changed industries, and make more money in a place with a lower cost of living. Micron treats equipment technicians like janitors... We all just wipe toilet bowls(chambers) with IPA.
People are laid off at Micron every year. The big layoffs you hear about; the smaller ones you don't. The workforce will continue to shrink. The higher end paid specialist jobs will be the ones to remain. They always need janitors.

There are things coming down here at Micron that years ago you never thought would happen. I would encourage everyone who has been given a delayed notice of layoff to find a way asap to leave this place. They will not be true to what they have told you. If you are not pro active you will sadly be left in the cold. To Micron it's the new way of doing business. That probably means it's very bad for you.
There will be a layoff every year under the guise of poor performer's. If you were a 3 this year, you better have a backup plan. You are next years 2. People: we care about each other my a--. They just instituted dog eat dog. Watch your back for daggers and kiss up to your boss better than anyone else on your team. This is the beginning of the end. Next Micron HQ is going to be in India!

I'm mulling over a PSP option. Doing the PSP could just be postponing the inevitable.
I think I'll probably take the money and run.
I suspect the people who don't take the immediate severence and stick it out thru the end of this year, that despite putting in effort to please their manager, will end up being the first to go on the next round. This time without any severence.

Micron has earn billions in recent quarters, and chose to layoff people at this timing,
with such a mere amount of severance package.

One of the core value in Micron is “PEOPLE”, mean WE CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER.
It should change to “COST”, cut cost and earn many billion at all cost.
