Same in Singapore, they keep/lay-off people based on their ethnicity, not based on their knowledge.
they have laid off multiple people in the Netherlands in their consumer and market insights function
They just got rid of their entire credit collections department - outsourced to Genpact.
I'm so sorry to hear that, @5wpho. I hope you land back on your feet quickly and in a better company than this.
I was laid off today by Unilever
Layoffs are not limited to Supply Chain and CD. Unilever are moving to minimise their Operation Costs and expanding their business by M&A. Some layoffs are unannounced and are done it batches. But agree with the previous post on Unilever's 2020 roadmap. The target to minimise operation costs are by 2020, so expect more layoffs by end 2019.

Unilever outsources its' brain
Unilever announced they are reducing 50% of jobs in their global computing, finance, i and a, hr and other support services at Port Sunlight Offices today to staff with many of the jobs going to India ...poor Lord Leverhulme must be spinning in his grave
Yes, some will begin in the second half of the year followed by the remaining in 2020 as a global initiative. This is part of Unilever’s 2020 « road map ». Automation projects are in progress which will replace many roles once completed. This is for CD and Supply Chain.
