You can’t justify by saying these people had been evaluated , these people have been with Biglots for 10, 15 , 20 years they should have gotten rid of them when it was pic n save and for your information it’s all about the money, think about it they get rid of high end jobs and create low pay dead end service leads to do the job an STL was doing $$$$$$ HELLO

I was told that if you know someone that has been let go not to get involved and not to say anything out of respect for those who were let go

I was apart of the conference call today, still have my job, but all of my team are concerned and hurt by how this was handled. In the email it stated the ones let go were evaluated and higher ups picked and chosen in their staff meetings last week. I was told my store has no changes as of right now but rest assured I’m looking for something else

Our atls was let go with no explanation except her position was done away with, she had 17 years with the company and wasn't offered the demotion to the new position being created. I've been with the company a couple years and have seen it going down hill. From there being no hours, 3 employees working all day, revolving door hiring. 5 years tops and big lots is done.

Bruce couldn't make in target so now he's trying to bring down BL now he's more interested what goes in his pocket than us employees... Y do u think target doesn't have him no more But still growing strong n now we r hitting rock bottom something CEO should look at just saying....

Big Lots always over spend on products like pillows n dog beds which they don't give us no room to stock them. Especially on seasonal items they clearance alot n d store or d company losses alot. If u want to let go anyone it should start w all of yall in dat office yall r in? Its yr fault y we r failing in all these stores. Open yalls eyes n c what's really going on BL Cooperate???

I've worked for BL about 10 yrs n what I think there is other ways to save money like for instance food pallets, nonsense grm dog n cat food Plus toys n chemicals is just ridiculous n they say store of d future they really need to put more in to all of dis. Truck days r sometimes horrible we can even get d back of d trailor opened for like 10mins then when u open it. Its a diasater n then they want to give u a time limit plus unloading a trailor at 100 degrees its all BS they r making rong changings like over buying on freight need office people to do what we do for them to realize what we do dat in n day out w no hrs giving to us but they want to cut I like to put them in my shoes for a day maybe d 2 days on truck c if they freaking last...

People are upset because of how things went down

Welllll the reason we are upset is

  1. We gave our LIFE to this company. Our entire life. 20-30 years of working 45-50 hours weekly.
  2. Tenure/job performance was not took into consideration when choosing who’s life to destroy. It was totally at random.
  3. There was no notice. No respectable conversation, no warning. No face to face sit down. Just a spur of the moment phone call on an otherwise normal day letting you know to leave the building immediately.
  4. The company is lying to us about reasons why this was done and how they chose who to fire. Legit just half a$$ lying. Not even trying to make them good lies.
  5. They DO NOT want this info released to the public. So shady and cowardly that they can’t stand behind their decisions.
  • just a few reasons a few of us might be “upset”

As an FSL that was told my store isn't affected by this change. I can only imagine what's to come. Was told by my DM many changes are still coming. Wouldn't be supposed to stilled store closings happening soon. My heart goes out to those affected and you best believe I am job hunting.

I can promise you that STL’s did not have prior knowledge. With all the suggested cut backs and the temporary bonus change proposal they had a while back we might’ve suspected we were facing cuts. But nothing of this magnitude. I’m in the West Virginia market. My team is heartbroken. We are losing a 30 year veteran

Most “views” is Big Lots execs creeping on us. We can’t go public with our real names due to the arbitration agreement. Unless you haven’t signed it. So how can we remain anonymous and get this out on social media

I think most stl knew this was coming when they had their annual store team leader meeting because my stl let it slip that he knew this was going to happen...i also think they let him choose which assistant to let stay or to let go bc they got rid of our atlm and gave the atlm position to our atls how does that happen it makes no sense i think they picked and choose who to keep amd who to let go out atlm worked at big lots 25 years

We probably need someone good with technology to make a “fake” Facebook that can’t be traced to us for arbitrary reasons to do our social media postings.
