If the economy turns around, do you anticipate any McKesson Layoffs in 2019?

10 pharmacists have been laid off in the Irving,TX specialty location 2 weeks ago.
The Financial Operating Model for MMS is being implemented in 2019. Our teams have been informed that we will be impacted significantly. Team members in Richmond and Jacksonville began learning their dates this past week. Some will be sooner than others depending on what has been transitioned to GenPact or centralized/automated thus far. Many employees impacted have been with McKesson for greater than ten years. This is part of the McKesson 2021 initiative.
I anticipate layoffs regardless of what happens with the economy.
New CEO=change is coming for everyone, especially workers in San Francisco.
The changing economy—for better or worse—doesn’t matter as much as the fact that this company is built on an old operating model. A huge outside sales force won’t work continue to work as younger generations take over pharmacies and hospitals.
McKesson is and will remain profitable for years. But it also needs to grow into the 21st century. That means if you’re not technologically savvy, flexible, and easy to work with then your days are numbered.
