Blue crews aren’t getting lay offs but there are plenty that are leaving. They are not being treated well by management and personally are running calls for no less than 12 hours or more. We are getting yelled at to sell not fix even on repair contracts and then when there is an obvious need to sell not fix we are getting yelled at to do the repair now but only have 15 minutes for a repair that takes hours as a repair is requiring more than a simple replace part as the unit is not set up for the new parts (it’s that old). I know of one district that has all their experienced techs leave already and only have fresh from school people working. Others are interviewing, myself included and I’ve had several phone interviews so that I can still consider the job but not miss work. I currently have several offers to decide from as they are all better than Sears offerings and less stress. My district is a multi state and I’m always taking calls in all states in a single day. And having no less than 12 calls a day is my new normal with Sears. We haven’t been given a schedule and I don’t trust my usual days off as being off until Routing tells me there are no calls for me. I am personally leaving Sears and going to take one of the new positions. My letter will be sent in tonight as I will pick a new job today. There are always jobs for the blue crew people it’s just deciding which one fits you the best. And don’t let a company short change you just because your current employer is in BK. I have had a couple try that but I called them out on it as their job postings were very clear on pay range and they were below it. They said they figured I would take anything to get away from Sears and wanted to save money. I turned those job offers down immediately. Just sign up on Indeed and do your resume on their. It’s able to be viewed by job posters without you even applying and they can message you on there to see if you would like the position. I have had 3 offers from that happening. Good luck to everyone with Sears and just think of what is best for your personal financial security and decide what is best job wise. I don’t trust Sears anymore but you may not feel that way.
