"This company has lost a significant amount of highly skilled workers due to micromanagers."
I had thought about leaving the company after I got a new manager a year or so ago. I went from having 5+ years of relative control over my job to having everything scrutinized. Of course, it's a moot point now since I've been let go following a 5 month temporary lay off.
Start laying off members from the management as they don’t comply with the enterprise’s management foundation. This company has lost a significant amount of highly skilled workers due to micromanagers.
That place needs to completely start over and where’s why. The overwhelming lack of accountability, sustainability and modernization.
The accountability factor: How can a company continuously preaches growth when there’s no individual accountability to self educate and practice what is on paper but seemingly folds in on itself when it’s time to put things into action? Is it all just smoke and mirrors? Is it all just for the sake of looking the part? Is it just another dirty greedy corporation hiding lots of skeletons in the closet? Maybe all the above.
The sustainability factor: This is a no brainer 🧠. You literally have over 77000+ people cutting each other throats for position and it’s a matter of time before it all implodes. Your client base are just as out of touch as you are and at some point the budgets are going to dry up and nothing will be accomplished. Mark my word on this.
The modernization factor: This sums it all up. It’s 2019 and you all are still working in a 1999 capacity. Your technical aptitude is that of cavemen and your billing cavemen like companies for cavemen results. At some point your just beating on the computer like the scene on Zoolander. Fact check: How can you build modern technology when you have no access to the cloud and all who have are literally compounding the problem? How can you work within an agile environment when you have 50000 systems that’s so complicated that the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing? How can your leadership talk about how well you’re doing when everyone is laughing and jumping ship, well except those who are complacent?
To sum it all up, you’re all delusional. Old people hiding behind titles and praying to make it to that retirement date full of those fat bonuses. You don’t care about anything but yourself and that unsuspecting fool of a client you can milk for every billable hour. Your time is coming and it will be a popcorn 🍿 moment to watch.
A letter to the Cnd. Gov. is showing 200+ layoffs for this spring 2019 in Canada. That doesn't account for all that are leaving because of the new ''working together'' policy where we can't work from home anymore.
Policy changes over the last few years is getting lots of employee to leave or looking for something else. Also, the once proud group of very high qualified peoples are mostly demotivated by all the politics in the enterprise. They say we are members, partners, but all decisions are against employees advantage - and debating a single policy is not welcomed.. even could get you to disciplinary measure.
Not to say they don't pay overtime - and if it happens you get to the level where overtime would be payed, then you are called for an administrative meeting where they will give you all the alternatives not to pay it.
People working at that place for a long time are totally unmotivated and won't give the additional ''free'' edge they did before, it doesn't worth it anymore. Quite frankly, why would we give that edge for people who have no idea what we're doing and how things should be done and recognized the effort of the employees are putting to save the day.
there were some layoff's today. Not sure how many.
