They have a rating system called 9 box. They place everyone in the company into one of 9 boxes based on a grid by ability and potential
I find it odd, they haven’t even consulted managers as how do Broadcom know which people are the best to hang on to
Typically decisions can be taken at VP director level using your PMS track record.. trust me it works.. PMS system what you see is minimal.. only goals.. but there will be lot more behind scene which determines your individual attainment for TSIP etc., so yiu clearly have a rating system in place and that can be used by senior management to make decisions..
In a way, i feel its effective, because managers may not be matured enough to make such tough decisions and may go with their own favouritism or take their grudge..
UK Ca is a lovely place to work, shame the number will be +100. Interns, Contractors, HR, FM, Sales, Services, Education and finance all going.
I agree on the point about the managers. So makes me think it's going to be mostly all or none in terms of teams...unless they look at cost/9 box. Apparently the 100 is the number of people affected, including the people who will just take a new contract with broadcom so not necessarily 100 people will go
Not really. Other than it must be at least 100 due to the 45 days consultation period. We suspect in our team that we will all go eventually but there will be a period of transition for at least some of us. We have also been told that the managers won’t even know what their team member status is. I find it odd, they haven’t even consulted managers as how do Broadcom know which people are the best to hang on to/ get rid of......
