Because the only hope you actually have of keeping your job is the deal going through. Praying for CFIUS to block it is praying for the total death of CA, Islandia first of all! You think if the deal gets blocked it just goes back to everyone working at their old jobs? No... if the deal gets blocked CA will file bankruptcy, no one will get a penny of severance and islandia will be gone even sooner. Get real! The only path forward is forward.

I am not against hope. I am against false and misguided hope.

@VRXdSW6-1yai, as a crazy French sales leader told me many years ago, “Hope is not a strategy”. He was right.

Hoping it doesn’t happen is fine, but CA itself was already gutting Islandia and some of the senior leaders had some ties there. Rumors are out there that the whole building is available for lease now. Public facts show the 3rd floor at least.

Broadcom has no attachment to Islandia. What Tan DOES have an attachment to are low costs and high profits.

Islandia and all of Long Island is dying, at least for tech. Those who are leaving CA will either have to work in the city or cut their aspirations (and salary) greatly and fight for the fewer jobs on LI. Sad but true.

@VRXdSW6-1mny Because nothing is over until it's actually over. If you have in fact worked at CA as long as you claim, then you should be well aware how quickly things change. Everyone, well most anyway, here at Islandia are sticking to our guns until we are told otherwise. More importantly, why are you so upset over having hope?

"Why does everyone have to mock them for wanting it to continue?"

Because it's pathetic. It's OVER. look, it's not that we don't feel bad. I have worked at CA for a long time. But y'all need to move out of the "denial" phase of the stages of grief. A lightning bolt is not going to come from the sky and save anyone. The sooner you accept that the better off you will be.

No one in Islandia lives in a dream world. They know all to well what this deal means for Islandia. Everyone keeps knocking them for wanting to continue working for CA but they love the company, they love the gym, the cafe, the daycare, their co-workers and much more. What’s so wrong with that? Why does everyone have to mock them for wanting it to continue? If you all hated CA so much why did you continue to work for them? Don’t knock the people who still want to work for CA just because it wasn’t good for you. Regardless of the deal going through or not CA is over and for that many are upset. Let them be upset. You don’t know their personal connection with CA. It may have been just a job for you but for many of them it was much more.

Islandia employees and Europeans live in a dream world. Every other location understands reality. A bit more than a week to go.

Well I collected direct deposit every two weeks for the past 8 years, and was able to find a really good job (better than the one I had at CA) so how can I be mad?

Worst company and leadership it was a since last 5 years...Lack of leadership ability from manager to svp to ceo . No wonder it's in this situation now...

This is classic example how a companies employees only suffer because of so many leaders who just talk and nothing else

CA will be known for making some of the dumbest business decisions. Most recently bike boy selling out to a hardware company. Take for example the name change, CA? CA has a big building on the 101 here in Santa Clara. Everyone here thinks it’s California Technologies. So this causes CA to invest in wasteful marketing campaigns. Like “application economy” , “modern software factory”. CA tries to invent terms so our customers have to search for them then they can link to a form to fill out. CA missed many opportunities to differentiate in the market place. It was too risky. Now CA is a nothing but old stale dusty products Broadcom is the hospice that will milk these products until they are truly dead

Believe me when

I say that CA will always be

Known as the place where

Everyone wants to

Be laid off and get a big fat severance

Oh and by the way in case

You didn't know that

Some people will be put on transition

Unfortunately some will even get

Compensated to continue working

Knowing that their product

Soon will be divested
