Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Support managers prepared the engineers list 3 months back. Your manager is responsible for your fate after Nov 5th.

The directors are responsible for all decision making. SDMs have no power over personnel issue, such as hiring or firing. Support Managers have more to say, but rather limited influence too. The lists cannot be that old, since hiring was ongoing all the way up to last month for support engineers in ITC and PTC

Lol i have one personal manager and FOUR technical managers. Technically those managers are in different regions but they all try to tell me what to do!

I believe this is true because "they" are all around and went to closed rooms to call and did the phone-conferences. This they did not before. so potentially its true.

But which Managers? At CA is a mixed org called Matrix org. Any engineer needs to make money for at least 2 managers. the personal management and the technical management.

It should be worth to drop the management at least by 50% which is then already a very good result. Or drop more to get bigger team and save much more because it makes no sense to have teams with less than 10.

Sounds like b---s--- to me. I hope it's true because my IRD is really low and I want to get laid off.... but this seems like a troll.

I can confirm. I’m an engineer that was told about the list. It’s based on IRD

The list was in a google spreadsheet that was going back and forth until it's final version earlier this week

Octane never wanted those people hired in the first place. CA management misunderstood Broadcom countless times. Changes to the list was happening up until early this week. Changes have since been frozen. if somebody is accidentally term then Broadcom may hire back. If within a time period they may have to pay severance back. /g

I don't agree... List might be prepared recently since there are some support engineers joined just month ago.

If list prepared 3 months ago, what about engineers joined in last month? Is it that those engineers are safe?
