Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Potential buyers for CA Veracode

It's not hard to see why nobody is denying that it will be divested:

Nothing to do with mainframes (saas/app sec)

Profit margins not in alignment with BRCM's strategy,

Semi-independent operation.

The question is, who could be interested in buying it ? / who might have bought it already?

Who evever buys VC they will have to have a SaaS only business model. Honestly, those VC folks are great—s---s to get acquired, then acquired only to be sold off again.

Everything from Automic and later should be divested easily enough. I pity the SourceClear folks who sold out and then learned CA was being sold in a garage sale a couple of months later. They are f---ed.

Qualms is light on the AppSec side. Rapid7 just acquired some AppSec capability but would have been a good fit. Palo Alto is growing fast but also made a lot of acquisitions recently.

Could be interesting for Splunk or RSA to enter this space. Microsoft could digest them quite easily.

Quakes has a nice three billion market cap and lot of synergies. Thank god CA hasn’t spoiled Veracode the way it spiked so many other acquisitions
