Thread regarding Sears layoffs

When is the next date and next course of action?

Court hearing date has been indefinitely posponed (how did the Judge even agree to it). Any idea what's going to happen next?

Hope this does not get dragged any more need some closure or way forward.

Don't know if this is relevant? I was an assistant manager for 7 years and worked for the company for about 16 years all together. I worked in the automotive division. I was a loyal employee to a company who treated me terribly. The things I went through and still stuck it out. I don't know why I didn't leave I could have left years ago. They announced in May our store was closing. Our last day in the store before we had to vacate was 9/14 we had to sit on the floor and fill out many forms to insure we would get our severance checks and vacation pay out. I recieved my vacation pay out and 4 out of the 13 weeks of severance. They mailed me a letter stating that they were ordered to stop paying severance to any employee who started receiving severance before 10/15. I have been actively seeking work and have not had much luck and unemployment in my state is terrible I depended on the severance. I've been sitting in my living room for the last couple of weeks just posting to job after job. If your still in the company get out now they don't have you or your families best interest at heart they are dirty and plan to do alot more employees dirty.

The court will eventually set a hearing date if the attorneys don't.

Ibvy, why not? Most of the people at Sears are only pretending to be working anyway!

Eddie is trying to cut a deal to bide time. Should be interesting even though the end result is already known. It's not a matter of will but a matter of when.

Ignorant people? Wow!! It's the ignorant people posting their stupid comments on here. If you don't work for Sears holdings then stay off of here. But I guess the mo--ns like stirring the pot and have nothing better to do.

"...But now Sears has postponed a hearing that was set for November 1 to win bankruptcy court approval of such a loan, according to a court document filed Wednesday. No new meeting date was set."

your closure should be here already . the information is all around you . why do you need someone else to tell you what to do ? be an adult , make an adult decision for yourself and your family . sears and kmart are done , the job market is good right now , you can get a good job with good pay , a good atmosphere and be treated with respect as a human being and coworker . the management at sears is not going to tell you anything because they want ignorant people to stay till the doors are locked and they are told to leave .
