Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

No layoff?

Is it possible ssnc actually knows how to manage a profitable company without continouse layoffs? This would mean Stone is'nt a hack ceo like the hatchet man was. I'm not convinced yet. If the end of the year passes with only small quiet layoffs moral might go from the c-apper level up to the just miserable level.

BINGO. In 2019 severance packages will be much much much less, as stated in the email that went out in beginning o f 2018.

Better to get laid off in 2018 than 2019.

Better to just get a better job instead of hoping and praying they don't lay you off.

Or he's waiting until 2019 so they can give 10 weeks instead of 40 weeks severance.

This is very 3rd party, so fwiw: Apparently a person helping laid off folks polish their ressie told a laid off programmer that he/she had also helped some DST directors/execs who told him/her that SS&C plans to close the KC office. Sounds pretty ambitious at this point, maybe it's the long term goal. Imo, Stone thinks he has long term client revenue locked in, so he can cut everyone not essential to running the systems clients pay for.
