Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

Layoffs at Raytheon

Raytheon is laying off over fifty people from the Orlando facility. I know nobody is surprised by this since we all know that no contract with Army equals no jobs.

I just wonder if we'll see more of a ripple effect from this or if it will stop here (which is very doubtful in my opinion.)

There were many valueless mediocrities in management at Raytheon Waterloo who simply sat in glass booth-like offices doing nothing. The core radar product line was left to die on the vine and was eclipsed by the competition.

The Raytheon plant in Waterloo, Ontario was closed for good late last year after producing radar systems since the late 1950s. It had been in decline for many years, so this was not surprise to any thinking person.

Looks like Raytheon's continued purge of age 50+ employees continues

Apparently they are doing the "retirement incentive" thing here in San Diego-over 50 and with the company-"out de do'..." or so says a friend of a friend...but they're usually a reliable source.
