I heard rumor that MFBU is gone in India. All the people will be given transition assignments and wiped out in next 6-9 months.. can that be true?? I am happy personally to go on transition and collect my severance..

There's some misinformation on this thread. Well there's misinformation almost every thread but as far as this one goes- anyone kept during the transition will still get severance when they are released around the middle of next year, they'll still get their stock options, etc. Nothing changes except they get another 8 months or so of employment and they'll have a much better idea of when their termination date will be- which makes it somewhat easier to look for a new job as compared to not really knowing if they will kept on in another 2 weeks. Besides, in many cases it's not up to the employee if they're chosen for transition- if they refuse, it's no different than quitting and goodbye severance, stock, unemployment.
Seems transition is a trap. In transition you will be offered a job which you may not like (designation change or work ), if you don't accept you do not get severance.
If you accept there are chances you will be in PIP list in the coming year
Well, ITC mostly deal with distributed counter part of Mainframe products.. very few works on mainframe sw development.. there are around 60-80 engineers might be there spread across products like Gen, MOI, DCD, DB2 etc.,
How many mainframe related developers and other people we are talking about here? I thought mainframe BU is already at minimum people.
If you are asked to leave after transition, you go with severance!!
Wouldn't be a surprise to me. What useful or even meaningful MFBU in India was doing anyway?
When on transition, you aren't eligible for severance!!
Transition for all - Daydreaming ?? Only one SME from each product will be in transition. Good luck!!
