The closer the date gets, the more nervous I get. I really wish we didn't have to wait for this long. I think I have become a major proponent of the "just rip off the band aid " approach thanks to this experience. I never want to go through something like this again.

@VM2H20P-qia CA was already advertising the whole 3rd floor, what else have you heard?
Islandia is a small nothing town where there is only CA and a hotel and a c-sino. For people there it might as well the end of their world... ain't nothing else there
Common guys its only end of ca not end of world
Where did November 15 come from? I thought it was November 7 or 8?
I heard from upper management , that Islandia is already looking for new tenants.
@VM2H20P-jgw - Yeah, Herndon is toast keeping about 14 people and of those 14 mostly AD's and a hand full of architects. Seems the strategy is to keep the client base but not really sell new product, just expand on when given the chance to sell a little more. But in terms of selling new product, that's done.
We have been told both the Cary, NC and Raleigh, NC offices will close. Majority let go. Small number transition. A couple full-time offers. Neither office have enough employees to trigger warn act.
Preach it Happy!
If you haven't already, start your job search today! Be transparent with prospective employers and tell them your not available before Nov 15th. I started my job search 2 weeks and I will receive an offer today with a start date after Nov 15th.
Hope you get laid off, collect severance, and start new job. There is no long term stable employment with Broadcom. Don't be a victim, be a victor. Take control of your future!
"I never want to go through something like this again."
You should find a new job with government, where everything is guaranteed, protected, trade unions, etc. And never trade on a stock market.
Probably Herndon, VA for mlk. Apparently it’s a known thing that the office is shutting down. Islandia isn’t going to shut down right away anyway.
Quick! burn budgets, burn vacation
“One or two offered full-time jobs“
S---s to be them.
which office -myk?
We have been told we are gone. One or two offered full-time jobs, a handful in transition roles but office closing and 75% terminated. East Coast USA. Last day Nov. 15.
This experience has convinced me that if Broadcom offers me a job i'm still leaving. Enough is enough.
You have fear that they will keep you or let you go? :) Because currently to get job offer from Broadcom doesn't look like a winning ticket. There will be still possibility of divestment of your BU, so the pressure will not disappear after day 1. Better to find stable job on your own and not rely on Broadcom goodness.
