I know I am not the only one with this fear but it feels to me that Broadcom is going to focus on a small group of customers that bring in a large chunk of the overall revenue - everything else is just going away - think in terms of how they cancelled CA World, they do not care about the wider population.
This will have far reaching consequences as it relates to every single one of us...
Internal to Broadcom, the affected will know first before anyone else. You won't know it thru the news or something like that. That means, if you haven't heard of anything, the chance of you having nothing to do with reorg is high.
Per Gdl's post, it's different for India. Managers will communicate, not through email.

We have not heard anything and will not know this week. October 29 will be an email blast to India so they don't get laid off during Diwali (sp?) Everyone else will be notified starting Nov 7.

I don't know anything yet.... and there's no way i'm lucky enough to be on the list. I'll be really surprised if I don't get an offer from Broadcom.
What far reaching consequences? You sound a bit of... mysterious. You will not be killed, nor imprisoned or sent to a concentration camp. The worst that can happen to you is your layoff (or maybe it's the best?!). You'll find another job and that's all.
