Thread regarding Sears layoffs

With the latest 142 store closings

Is liquidation now 45 days instead of 60?

Do the liquidators assign new tasks or do you just keep doing what you did before?

How do you keep from becoming sad seeing everything stripped down to the walls?

What has been the hardest part of going through liquidation?

Are the liquidators pretty fair about staying with your availability?

Are ad sets still done? Or is it just generic percentage signs everywhere?

Our LQ came Tuesday and gave us an overview. We seem to still follow the 88sears via schedules. Although what I love is the LQ seems very nice and overall easy going however our SM is still their. The LQ said that our SM is still the SM I was like wow...

We are getting unlimited hours as it seems (other than no OT mentioned as of now). We officially start this Friday overall it seems we might be done by ends of December which I can't wait to finally let this chapter finish and move on to something bigger in life (vacation and unemployment here I come!)

Everything is for sale according to the LQ. I am just milking the hours and taking my sweet time I estimate I got 9 to 10 more weeks of work and its game over (super excited!).

You do whatever the liquidator tells you to do. Our liquidator capped us at 8 hours OT even though we wanted to work, and hired a bunch of temps. She made us give the temps our RMUs and Pathfinders. They did most of the scanning and pricing of merchandise. We ran registers, ad signed, moved and condensed merchandise. It was a joke. If you are kept to the end to tear down the rest of the counters, be sure to wear a breathing mask, especially in the older stores. If you feel like crying, go ahead because it's completely understandable.

You do what you did before but you do get asked to do a lot of additional things as needed(signing, stocking etc.) They hire temp agency workers if needed so they don't really need the regular store staff if they aren't willing to work.

I am bumping this to anyone kind of enough to answer this questions? This is what I got as of now.

Our store hasnt started LQ officially until this Friday apparently. We are still Sears (I believe until Thursday). Our LQ will last until middle of January. Apparently the next closest Sears store already started it and they are pretty empty now (according to a customer). The LQ (one of our co workers knows) said will be in charge of our store and seems like a nice person (thats a good sign).

I would like to add this question. Will the SM stick around? I hope he leaves if he doesnt leave will he actually have to work now? No more hiding in his little office bossing everyone around right?
