Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Layoff notification via email

As per GDL, notifications will be via e-mail. Like everything else, this can’t be good. It is quite easy to notify every person in a company in person in one day. That is how bonuses are communicated in any major firm.

To me at least, it’s obvious why this won’t be done in person or over the phone. Three reasons

  1. Most of the CA management chain is gone Day 1 - and it’s probably inappropriate for someone who is leaving to let someone underneath them know they are staying.

  2. CA HR is unwilling or unable to communicate the message. They would probably be overloaded

  3. Broadcom, even though they are making the decisions, just doesn’t give a sh--.

What a shame BikeBoy, HockALoogie, Princehottie, XBOX Man, and NotReddy can’t do their jobs.

Per Gdl's post, it's different for India. Managers will communicate, not through email.

It will be even simpler. You will stop receiving any e-mails or phone calls. Attempt to call work numbers will be useless - no answer. And most importantly, salary deposits to your bank account will stop. In panic you'll drive to your work office only to see a big padlock hanging on a front door and a sign "Closed permanently".

This speaks volumes of Broadcom. Sad this acquisition is moving forward. So many jobs and talent will be gone day 1.

Who is Princehottie? HR is being cut on Day 1 so how would Broadcom expect them to fire everyone when they are being fired? Get used to it, this is how Broadcom operates. CA was pushing to pre-notify but couldn't because Broadcom wasn't organized enough to get their act together. I guess the good news, I now won't be surprised when I get the email saying I was fired like the people at Brocade were. I now feel sorry for the people that stay.
