I wanted to leave AI 4 years before I did, and I should have left sooner. Some professional advice if you’re still reticent. https://apple.news/AYsDVWcD_Rfyh9mFazNpm-w

$60k plus insurance. Not leaving until I get severance or unemployment benefits.
Rat hole with lots of vampires
I’m hanging on to my 50k as long as possible. Working in an office s---s more than this.
I still have ex-students reach out for advice but the last 5 years or so have been a long slide into darkness. Better for everyone to put the horse out of its misery ASAP
yec -- AMEN
drf - I agree - I have worked with the most aspiring and creative students and feel privileged to have met them and still work with them after they graduate.
Good luck to you --I'm about to do the same.
I am out after 17 years, most of them good. I am still in contact with a ton of alums and seeing them flourish as their careers unfold and they establish families and am still an advisor to many. We had a great run with great placement for many many years and, although there were difficulties, was able to work and learn from many terrific faculty. The last 3 years have been really hard, seeing our program slide first into lowered expectations and finally lack of proper instruction and of student quality although there are still some shining ones. Sorry for those students remaining not to have a faculty family and learning environment that is challenging but supportive. All things end, and I look forward to healing the psychic damage from being in a very toxic environment the last few years.
Thanks, I am leaving in December, well I should say the campus is closing in December. It has been a really great experience teaching up until the last few years. G Sacs started the decline and DCEH sealed the fate of AI. I am expanding my business and joining with alumni. There has been some terrible comments on here about our students but as a whole they have been incredible at my campus and I was privileged to have taught some aspiring creatives. I was offered hours at another campus but it will probably close soon too. DCEH has no commitment to improving AI's damaged reputation and focusing on strong programs that attract students and employers. Good luck to anyone leaving in December and for those still on remaining campuses. Happy to be starting a new chapter.
