Thread regarding ADP layoffs

I’m not waiting to get RIFed at ADP

ADP seems to be in a state of constant and never-ending restructuring. As a 3 year employee, I’ve decided not to wait to become a victim of those shifts and started applying for a new job at other companies. Already been to a few interviews, everything went okay, so chances are that I will be gone soon.

Couldn’t say it wasn’t a good run. I had a good team of colleagues, was satisfied with the pay, and had a good work-life balance, but at some point, you got to ask yourself can you take the pressure of never being secure about your job.

Back when I started ADP was an excellent place to work, but lately, it seems the company has become dangerously profit-oriented, the leadership has become bottom line and will stop at nothing to achieve profit. I just don't see this place as an environment for long-term employment anymore. It’s better for me to surprise them with my departure than let them surprise me.

Read a lot of posts of those who left early to find the transition was not what they expected. You have to follow your own heart and soul. Every person has a different story and level of need to stick around. Be strategic in your decision. You must HAVE a plan or the transition will give you one.

Nobody should wait, the RIFs are coming. Don't be a Director w/o direct reports. Just saying.

sorry.. i was referring to those of us who were eligible.. over 55 :

The Matching Contribution will be deposited in your Matching Contribution account each pay period. You

must be employed on the last day of the plan year (December 31st) in order to retain the Matching

Contribution for the year. However, if you terminate your employment during the Plan year and have

attained age 55 and completed 5 years of vesting service, you will retain any Company Matching

Contribution you earned during the Plan year

I believe you have to be employed on 12/31 to keep your match for that year otherwise you loose it.

Great idea and well said. ADP use to be a nice company to work for however now everyone is just a number and it’s all about paying cheap wages with sh-- perks. Not a company to have a long term career with anymore. Good luck on the job hunt.

Great post and well said. Its also easier to take your time and find a new job when you dont have the pressure of having been kicked out by ADP. Leave when you can and don't look back!

That was my approach and very happy with the decision and timing of my new career. The grass is greener.

I think that you are absolutely right. Leave on your own terms rather than have ADP throw you out.
