Thread regarding MetricStream, Inc layoffs

Salary or performance was not the criteria for layoffs in 2017,but ability to adapt to change

I have been there during the last lay-off and I can assur no one was selected based on their salary or performance , the only thing considered on who will adapt to change and those folks were retained and rest laid off. However I thought the severance package was really good along with an option to refer them through our partners and trust I wanted to be on the laid off list to get that money and get out . Having said that I am sure there could be some black sheep’s who may have used that opputuntiy to practise nepoatism and favouritism . However in larger scheme of events the decision was fair.

Metricstream showed great empathy and emotion at that time ,it been a long time I quit now I don’t know the state of their mind . All I can hope is if lay-off happens again hopefully the attitude should be the same as 2017.

Keeping in tone to your advise to management - if lay-off have to happen please let go mid level managers and directors who are good for nothing and give them the power to select people for lay-off. No point . Please look in to the organisation as a whole and take decision from highest level and purely based on numbers and individual attitude to change.

I agree wit the OP ( @Vyfc94O-aksm ). If layoffs have to happen, hope they would be done systematically and based on the same criteria like in 2017

Good response boy, i liked it (Post ID: @VIUqiaD-Hilh)

Unfortunately MetricStream has bad management though they have good customers and products. Another thing that company should observe regional feeling in top management, if we see CTO didn't fire at least one north indian even some of them are not worth to be in company, a kannadiga,Tamil, Telugu guys in management - each one want to save their people.

Management team, look at the work what employees did and then fire them if employee performance is not good. Never ever do harm to innocent hard working employee for your benefits and save your region employees.

keeping V's and A's in management is harmful to the company. MetricStream never come back as long as these guys working in management/leadership. All thought new CEO and CTO realize this but in one year they haven't made any change. Crossing the fingers and waiting to see management terminations - it is not too far. Company should not have the management who are burden to the company.

Managers, layoffs is common in the industry and its part of your job. But when you terminate make sure the employee performance is not good then terminate. Never send someone because you have problem with employee or you didn’t like him. Follow ethnics.

Yeah looks like the guy who responded first is from management. It has been more than a year the new CEO and CTO joined, we don’t see any change they brought into the system. Old leadership continuing with power and wasting investments.

Just ask your management that,

  1. Why the platform architect brought back after he left company and terminated in 2017?

  2. Why some people who has handful of work terminated and where as employees with no project were retained?

  3. In my team who never had history of 4 rating were terminated- why?

  4. Employees who were part of top talent are terminated- why?

  5. Managers with no use in the company are not terminated and promoted - how?

After you have answers then you comment that leadership selection for termination is political drama or honest decision.

I survived 2017, haven’t seen it like that, more like a huge mess.
