Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

What happens to CA if acquisition fails

I was wondering, what will happen to us if Broadcom gets acquisition-blocked?

I was reading an article that was speculating on this from Broadcom's perspective, and it basically concluded that Broadcom really doesn't need CA and it would be OK one way or the other.

But what about us? Which options is worse for us?

Any future CA would have to be one without Bike Boy, without bloated levels of VPs and CxOs, without Modern Software Factory commercials, without science projects, and without anything else that has to be subsidized by mainframe business.

No. The deal is done.

SeekingAlpha is a blog. Your "article" is a blog post by a blogger with this disclaimer in his profile:

"Disclosure: I'm not a financial adviser. All articles are my opinion - they are not suggestions to buy or sell any securities. Perform your own due diligence and consult a financial professional before trading."

Look at his blog posts, he simply posts reactions to current news to increase his ranking.

Yep. Best case scenario would be massive layoffs and divestitures and what remained would be purchased by someone else at a huge discount. And that's being optimistic that something would remain.

CA will die, be sold off and strip mines without the acquisition. The expense spent, the loss of talent, the non-renewal of contracts and the loss of bookings would result in a bad quarter and the stock to plummet. PE vultures would circle the dying company.
