Considering no one at any level knows anything. Granted this is a personal decision then each person has to make. Everyone has heard the corporate response to this. I've reached out to the Employment Commissions and the Labor Board and Attorney (EAP will not help on this as it is about the company. LOL) Looking for guidance on what questions to ask so we can gain an insight to the future we have or do not have at Verizon. There is no help on this one. No rules being violated. Having a moral compass to do the right thing doesn't matter. Verizon has made this decision extremely difficult for everyone. By the way I still need you to meet your numbers while I refuse to tell you anything about your potential fate! This has jaded me and I will never give my loyalty to a company again. For a company that I have stood behind for over a decade and given 110%, top performer making revenue for the company, this is how I am repaid? Dedication has been to the more important things in life. This company is not my priority in life however, I have been dedicated to the company that I've worked for, to continue to help them be successful, as in return they pay me which takes care of my home. Oh and by the way I'm not going to tell you if you're going to be off payroll at the end of December or in March or in June until December 10th! For those of you leaving at the end of December you'll have a prompt 2 weeks to find a new job, LOL. You know people who typically perform at 100% or better all of the time, really want to take time off from working and spend savings or the severance, so thanks for the added stress! Maybe EAP will help with the company caused stress haha. And for those Executives who have to reapply for the jobs they already have, I feel for them too, they also support a family... whether I go or stay I will pull all of my money out of Verizon stocks. I will switch services. This has been handled horribly. Seems like HR, managers, directors, VP, etc know nothing. It is all hush hush from the CEO. How in the world do people sleep at night? A business needs to make money- I agree. How you do it makes a difference.... how you communicate it or refuse to communicate it to your employees makes all the difference... where is the transparency .....

It’s verry difficult to seek re-employment when you cannot commit to a potential start date with a new company because you’re being left in the dark as to when your release date is, if you’re being released.
Most recently this happened in branchburg nj too layed off senior employees eMD performance materials one of the worst senior management including Korean mafia gang .yourdooms day will come ,,,,
I agree with you OP.
Your mistake was your belief in some kind of unspoken agreement or pact with the company. The company has never cared about anyone and never will. A corporation is amoral by definition. Even the board of directors and the CEO himself don't take anything for granted or on someones word. They each have a negotiated contract explicitly stating their rules of employment; goals, compensation, separation terms etc. Anyone who works without a set of employment terms in the form of a binding contract is a fool. To work without a contract makes one an at will employee. The basic meaning being you can leave your employer at your own will without obligation and the employer can terminate you at their own will without obligation. The only extra protections you get are ones fought for as legal minimums like minimum wage laws, WARN Act provisions, COBRA etc. If one wants more than these bare minimums they need to bargain collectively.
Lots of folks know lots of details, dont be naive. You sound like a rube
They don’t give a sh-- about you ! Been here almost 30 years and it never ceases to amaze me how much they don’t care . Just get paid and move on . For me , I am taking them for everything I can get and hopefully out of here in a couple of years . Feel bad for my friends that are management , but they are taking the money and running
Money can soothe conscience. They are sleeping just fine :)
Merry Christmas!
