Hey guys hearing a lot of scuttlebut about union cards is it true the union is in
Their are enough cards signed in bethpage and Freeport with Haup close behind
so, what's really going on in Bethpage & Freeport?
Every thing is temporary.
That strike isn't over. Glad you are happy. Hopefully for you and your family it isn't temporary.
How did the Charter strike work out? Seems like the only people who benefitted from that were the non union Cablevision employees who took their generous buy outs and double dipped pay checks. And a number of unsatisfied ATS guys that jumped ship for smoother sailing. And we are happy here. Good luck!
So avoid the question, insult me, then dismiss me. Great way to sell us a union. Can any one tell the rest of us what you have actually gotten from the union besides a guarantee. Because that guarantee has not been challenged yet. Do you really think of the work load doesn’t call for the man power we have, that a union will save you? How about if a manager decides to be spiteful and move your shift hours? Anything your union will do about that? Needs of the company will always be the deciding factor. There are plenty examples of layoffs in union shops across the Country in different companies. How is this different?
No group legal was a way for me to make you understand the point , but you don't get it and I won't waste my time with an individual that thinks his deserving of everything free of charge go on and be at will employee and keep on wearing those knee pads see where that takes you , because we all know how the game is play, and we like our job security. So long partner.
So, your big win is group legal? And an Altice approved lawyer? Let the rest of us know how it works out for you. So again I’m gonna ask. What did you get that’s worth signing a card for?
Such a fool, Oakland has a four year contract and representation. Do you have group legal? Is better to pay six seven bucks a pay check then to needing it and not having it.
And some of you sound like brain washed fools. I still have not heard 1 specific example of how being in a union has helped any one. Do union shops have all their personal and sick days back? Holiday schedule restored to Cablevisions? Have union shops not had the new higher price benefits put to them? So please, once again, I’m not asking for the union play book, I’m asking for real changes that have happened. And, include context when you quote people, otherwise it is a dishonest representation of what the original statement was. And I know Union recruiters would never want to appear dishonest!
"Things won’t change when you go union they stay the same. There are guidelines the company must follow if you are union."
please don't spread false information
Things won’t change when you go union they stay the same. There are guidelines the company must follow if you are union.
How have things changed for ATS depots that have gone union?
I can't believe there is still this debate about the union especially in the Long Island shops. Look how much has changed all these past years, benefits, time off, work load. Apparently everyone still believes a 'direct relationship with management' is the way to go. That has really worked out well hasn't it?!
go Union....take pride in your work.....protect your work.....don’t play scared. I’m in a union now and the power they have is nothing compared to what I would have by myself.
"I wanted to know from the guys in the shop. I already know the union sales pitch, I’m more interested in the actual results. So, please spare me the campaign promises, and have some guys who have a union comment"
"That’s exactly why senior guys have no use for the union. It’s not the union we’re against, its not wanting to stand side by side with guys we have no respect for."
The level of ignorance that exists across this company is astounding.
It's extremely difficult to explain the union experience to employees that have been indoctrinated into believing that a union is nothing but an evil money grabbing entity that does nothing.
Over the years, Management has done a masterful job of promoting a narrative that being an AT-WILL employee is in your best interests. Nothing could be further from the truth. They've also used fear, intimidation, deception and manipulation to further their agenda against us.
The only good news is that some of us are actually waking up. Earlier this year, Lodi and Newark shops voted for union representation.
The rest of the footprint need to decide the path of their future. Remain "AT-WILL" or vote to have the opportunity to collectively bargain the terms of you employment. It's not too late.
Altice Timeline ---> @SGe0nUA
the company is going to implement whatever they want but the contract is the contract and thats the final word its on paper
What I was always curious about If Brooklyn ever implemented VOC scores? Or are they still using old metrics prior to 2014 or 2015?
Hey 7diq, perfect response. That’s exactly why senior guys have no use for the union. It’s not the union we’re against, its not wanting to stand side by side with guys we have no respect for.
Always an excuse rather quit than fight sad, in reality I think you and the guys that side with the company are afraid of confrontation looking to please. All you have to do is say no one time and you will fall out of favor with boss, they will use you abuse you then replace you with a cheaper version of you. Good luck In reality maybe y’all not cut out for a union maybe your not loyal and your only for your self and you don’t care about what happens to your coworkers but hey good luck with that.
Unfortunately the fact that you have standby will probably make guys not vote union. They care more about not having on call than their future. See you guys on the unemployment line as I drive by in my truck.
Yes sir we are doing standby like I said earlier just like the Old CV
7tia you D1ld0 I’m in a union shop. More worried about you guys that aren’t union.
To 7diq. I wanted to know from the guys in the shop. I already know the union sales pitch, I’m more interested in the actual results. So, please spare me the campaign promises, and have some guys who have a union comment.
Are all departments still doing standby in union shops?
the biggest benefit is security there have been no employee reductions we are fully staffed we even have two stand by teams. Management has to tread carefully when they talk to a employee. I was on both sides and its a huge difference when I go to work it feels like the old Cablevision guys hanging out after work.
A union makes you as a group one. It allows you to go to someone before you go to management with issues. It gives you bargaining rights when contracts come up. The company will not be able to just take from you as they have done in the past these things need to be negotiated. Anything you are questioned on the union will be present to record what happened. It give you a person on your side to sit there and record what happened in any private meeting you may have with management. If something were to happen to you in your employment lets say wrongfully terminated. The union can file a grievance and represent you and your employment. You as one with union representation can write anything into a contract which is legally binding. Think now and protect your employment.
For any of the shops with a union, what benefits have you seen that the rest of us haven’t?
A wolf is stronger, cause he really is wolf man jack oh yea
Who's stronger a fox or a wolf!
Bethpage & Freeport signing cards??
no way this can be going on and Fat Barry not reign on you techs like a category 5 hurricane!
Sign your self up, the lot of you!
Sign me up boys
Your %100 correct. A union is like a unicorn. You’ll hear all the stories. But you will never see one!
A unicorn
Is a union like a bunion
Foxy wants a union or is he on the fence
Construction sups in Bethpage
You all need to wake your áss up and do what need to be done.
Brooklyn contract doesn't expire until June 2019, but Altice reached out and is ready and willing to sit down with us right now and negotiate new contract. 🤔
All shops across the footprint need to get involved and have a say in their future employment. Stop being scared little puppies and stand up. Stop listening to management and consider what's in your own best interest. Why would you not want to be union at this point? Look at all they've done in just 2+ years.
God bless you all because Altice will not stop until they get rid of everybody that's not protected.
Where do boo bee and ginger Vitous hand out? Haven’t heard of them? Maybe I’m in the wrong shop. Too many rats to keep track of.
About time , what did all the scumvisors over there expect
