Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

STAR has killed productivity

And there’s nothing being done to fix it. It’s like everything else this place has ever done. Here’s something new! Oh it’s garbage? We’ll fix it! do nothing until the complaining stops Hmmmm why is everything failing? Start firing people that will light a fire under the others. That didn’t work? Oh well...

I think STAR is working well. It took a while to get familiar with it but now it does a lot of the back end work for me and actually allows me to focus on talking with potential students. Rumor is there are two more major changes coming that will allow us to not have to look any where else to see a students progress and to prompt us when we need to call at risk students. Yes, change is hard to accept, especially if you don't want to but I am leaning to like the system. Could use more leads though!

STAR has killed online. Calling disconnects and wrong numbers for hours everyday will do that. Management is just as frustrated as everyone else. Have to wonder how long you can keep the doors open with no students coming in.

They gave now hired shoppers that come into campuses and record us. Beware and tell everyone. Is this legal? Is it in our handbook that this is allowed?

Oh mama and papa the STAR portal is so tiresome. How in the world are we supposed to put more asses in classes under these ever so trying circimstances. I know what to do! I will take this irksome situation to the highest levels of management and wait breathlessly for them to deign upon me their divine wisdom because I'm such a lame MFer.

But first a dollop of snuff if you please. Tah, Tah.

STAR portal is horrible , it has nothing to do with not getting it. It is slow, way too many boxes to click and save- in admissions its about speed to lead- and waiting on the next page to load is annoying. Nothing about STAR is efficient.

Lucky if you still have support staff because our campus doesn’t. It’s all going digital. Yes it is sad for those that have lost their jobs or may still be laid off, I know I need mine. Buts let’s face reality people. Most schools, if not all are digital. Many businesses for that matter. It’s the world we live in, the world of technology.

@VGRGRfX-cpl

Thanks for the explantion.

When do they take you out of the straight jacket and allow you to interact with the rest of the institutionalized population.

Support staff are still finishing every new application in campus nexus. STAR doesn't add high schools, colleges, JST's, or all admissions documents. They have to enter data (grad date, GPA, credits, degrees earned) from transcripts into nexus as no one centrally is doing that (at this time). Support staff also upload documents and transcripts into ImageNow, as well as overseeing the ADCOM process and any other administrative/support duties for the department that the director needs. I'm actually still busy, but do anticipate my position being eliminated in the future, I'm just not sure when.

It has also completely eliminated the need for our support staff. They all just sit around now with nothing to do.

Get the word out: Re STAR

Students: To these horrible DCEH paracites at SU, AU, Ai you are merely leads.

Take your loan money and go to a community college. If it doesn't work out for whatever reason you will not be financially screwed for life.

This organization is nothing but a educational pump and dump loan mill, confidence game.

Do your online homework in evaluating them and you will glad you did.

Real schools DO NOT need third party lead generators to attract students. Be careful. They are NOT your friends.

STAR issues can hopefully be worked thru.... the lack of leads is what is truly concerning many of us. Many of us know this business model can't continue yet many are in the same boat of wanting to hold out on hopes something positive can happen or more realistically, make too much money to make the move to walk out. For those of us with 10 years or more tenure.... have you ever noticed less enthusiasm at all levels of leadership? Why can't they get everyone together and be honest and stop the bleeding? Maybe apathy is viewed as the kindest way to let this ship sink? It's all very sad.

STAR seems to be working fine. I call all my new leads, set appointments, look at my notes, etc. Ya it slowed us down a bit and the timing of rolling it out good of waited till after the start but if you don’t have it down by now then maybe you’re just a bit slow. It needs some improvement but like anything else that’s new, it’s a learning curve.

You are correct and I believe they are doing it on purpose so they can shut down all the AI campus's and call it a day. I feel we are being sabotaged. We were told to ignore our 2019 class, the fiscal year class. Does that make any sense at all???
