Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Nobody Reads/Watches "The News" Anymore

One look at the headline theatrics that is now called news is all that's necessary to understand why nobody watches mainstream news anymore, and they sure aren't going to pay to have "Trump trashes Stormy!" nonsense sent to them.

People are looking for real information, not tabloid stupidity that seems to be all the mainstream has to offer these days. Surely those of you in the industry have noticed this, yet I see few, if anyone commenting on it. Why is your industry going down? Surely that should not be a mystery to anyone here. But....somehow it is.

Precisely why you need news you can trust when making financial decisions. That is probably the main value add of the service ( though it is, of course, the part which is still owned by TR).

News? What news? There is no news - just competing agendas. Do reporters bother to report facts anymore or just the spin that will please their masters? Journalistic integrity may not exactly be an oxymoron but it is definitely an anachronism.

Reuters is a liberal trash heap when it comes to reporting news. They are the oldest of old media.
