Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

Karma

I could not have been happier to hear the organization, as a whole was falling apart and disbanding after the way they treated employees and candidates when their profits took a hit. This companies ego was its downfall and it got what was deserved :)

Point is that organizations & companies and especially their Services & Products are made and provided by peoples.

They bring in all their abilities, dedication, knowledge and passion for the company to make this happen and a being part of a success story. All their attitude is to do it right and to make it possible.

There are peoples along them who are organizing this endeavor, taking accountability, enabling their colleagues to achieve this goals, defining strategies for new opportunities and finally guiding and leading them to reach the goals.

These peoples are called Leaders.

Such organizations having leaders are ready to take up any situation. They know where everybody can fit in to achieve (or at least enable them to contribute and grow with their tasks).

But we've managers, embodied in a layer called "Management".

They're used to handling with responsiblities, pushing away accountability, shifting and selling risks to others instead solving or dealing with them. Mostly number and finance driven, with very limited or no relationship to the peoples defining, desiging and providing the Services & Products of the company.

A layer of distance to the reality. With distance to the peoples making it happen. But with the steering wheel in the hands to runs crashing everyone against the wall. As they've only have responsibility for the steering wheel, but not the accountability of where heading the company. As they don't have a f---ng clue what is going on outside in the reality, giving a damn on peoples inside the company, who know the reality.

They're pretending and behaving like kings. One-eyed kings, making everyone else stay blind and numb.

Just for their own sake and greed.

Thank you...for nothing!

GE is simply a politics game place with mediocre talent and management throughout! The worst HR I’ve seen in my entire career — completely bitter and negative towards the employees.

Hell, I miss the days when we owned everything too: NBCU (including the CA park and half of FL), Plastics, GE ComFin/ConsFin/Money/name of the year was printing money, we hadn’t sold Plastics, we were disappointed Honeywell hadn’t gone through... I was proud to be GE then.

Sad to see where it currently is. But whoever posted the dumb--s karma rant in the OP probably never saw that - otherwise the rant would have been more nostalgic and less angry.

Probably did not get a retention bonus like many who did. GE did not want to retain him so they let him go. Likely expendable. GE will survive without him.

GE will die a painful death. Anyone still there just doesn’t want to move back to India. When GE dies..America will be Great Again!

I am guessing things didn’t go so well for you. Then again, that is not surprising given your bitterness.
