Liquidating Sears Stores

Liquidators are totally in charge of the store. They will make the schedule, they will deal with customers, they will set the prices and they will sell everything that is not part of the building. Get ready. You will make more money with more hours in the next few months than you would have gotten in the past year.

SM and ASM still exist because they will be needed for over rides and customer issues that can't be handled by just a front line person. Also when the liquidator isn't in store the SM and ASM act as go betweens for the liquidator so they will still be there and working. I closed a store a year ago and transferred to another store and will be closing that one too. Most liquidators are pretty good to work with and will work with employees

So, store managers and ASM's are gone when liquidation begins? Or they are no longer in charge and are now on the same level as hourly associates?

That is true about the hours. Two stores clise to mine that shut down in Jan 2015 and Sept 2017 had unlimited overtime. Our store which closed thus April had a cap on O T that was 52 hours a week. Thus was per the liquidator. He said people r not productive over that a week. I guess it depends on who u get to clise y down
