Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What about people outside of stores?

How are people outside of stores being affected by this? I know what will happen if Chapter 7 is announced, but what about now? I haven't seen any layoffs mentioned as of yet. Isn't that one more way to immediately save money in addition to closing the announced stores?

I work at a store, so I know what my fate will be, but I'm curious about the rest of folks.

Lalyoffs at HE and some of the other parts of the company begin next week. They are still structuring the BK. The easiest part is to close a store so that is the beginning. Then you shut down divisions like buyers, marketing, IMX, Innovel, IT, customer service, repairs, AP/LP, legal, environmental services etc

Innovel filed for bankruptcy if that's what you mean. The parts of the company file. So if you work for Innovel, you might have to deliver appliances for someone else.

To the OP, maybe if you asked a specific question you'd get a specific answer.

Your post is vague, and suggests a muddled mind.

Kind of odd no mention of layoffs at HE.. wonder when that news will be coming. How can they justify the head count there when 142 more stores are closing

it does seem unfair to only have store employees pay the price...

You mean outside the stores, like the homeless man that sleeps behind our dumpster?

I don't know how Chapter 11 will affect him.
