No Experience

Why would a payroll company hire someone with a background in culinary arts and place them in a manager position ? #shortdress

Good question. Maybe ask Maria Black about her experience at the strip club?

Maybe they are a relative of someone higher up? ADP does like its nepotism.

Because ADP and many other companies these days just care that there is some type of degree- doesn’t matter in what- just must have that piece of paper.....meanwhile there are very experienced, promotable people that are more than capable to move into those positions but wind up training these degreed managers on the process. No wonder morale is in the sh$tter

I was a software developer at ADP. Management not knowing much about IT was the norm rather than the exception. We software developers were once insulted at a meeting when we were told that technical people do not make good managers.

I think the real reason that techies were kept out of management, at least at my location, was that if they knew too much about IT then they would set more realistic deadlines for the programmers. Then the programmers wouldn't have to work nights and weekends to try to meet impossible deadlines.

It's like a person falling ill and going to the doctor. Upon finding out what is wrong, the patient tells the doctor "I will need to be cured of this ailment by 3pm tomorrow. Oh, you can't do it? Then just what kind of a medical professional are you?" he would say in disgust.
