How does that make any sense? Why lay off all these people just to turn around and replace them within a week? How is that good business?
And if it's jobs in other departments, why not at least give people who are being shown the door a chance at those jobs before outsiders?
I was laid off in March 2018 and was told that I was not permitted to search for another job within the company for 6 months after layoff. Most likely this is if your find something after 6 months, they can bring you back in at a lower pay rate as a new employee.
This company absolutely does NOT care about people!!! People are treated as if they are another piece of furniture or equipment. Once they are done with you, you're GONE!!
I bet any amount of money that the Indian CEO has not a care in the world! He just keeps farming out jobs to the incompetent dopes in his Sh--HOLE homeland! When I was laid off and my work sent to the injuns, I was replaced by 5 of them for the same work I was doing by myself!!

Our department has US openings that haven't been filled in almost a year despite many people leaving the company and the boss was told from above not to hire any new people right now. I wouldn't trust any openings in the US to be legitimate.
Reason: The execs get bonuses for every round of cuts.
The job postings are for $5 an hour incompetent foreign slave labor replacements.
If you are in the U.S.A., that job posting is fraudulent. Don't expect any to be filled
at the prevailing U.S.A. wage rate.
They get a stock bump every RIF they announce.
