Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

Silent layoff

If you look at the raises Dst gave it shows their level of care about retaining staff. The 1 to 2 % raises over the years were a silent layoff, that resulting in many people leaving. But I was friends with a mid level manager that received 10% + raises each year and had stock options thrown at him like they were wortless. The average employee wasn't treated this way

I have seen good looking women at Dst who were involved with their male managers get nice promotions over others more qualified. Not sure if the raises were 5%. But looks matter more than performance in many areas where the ignorant men are smitten by the young women working under them. As if they really have much of a chance to ever date them. Women know how to manipulate men with small minds. It's entertaining to see, and then the girls get promoted above the old gesers

5% increase, IN YOUR DREAMS...

I previously worked in Wage and Salary Administration, nobody gets 5% increase in the Company even if you are the most valued worker in your department. The only possible way to get that increase is if you had a promotion plus a 3% increase.

The person who performed so highly as to get a 5% raise- yes, that works and that kind of effort deserves compensation. But you're an id--t for not taking your superior talent/work ethic to a better company. Many good folks have gone to Cerner, Cisco, Amazon, etc. Besides, sooner or later you'll be laid off or leveraged until exhausted and broke down. Running the s*** out of workers is how execs get big bonuses for production at low costs. And that bonus is way more than your 5%. Wake up!

I had a 5% raise this year and 4% last year. You should not badmouth a company because you are a poor performer at your job and they do not give you a raise. I get extremely high annual reviews for I am good at my job thus a good raise. I think it has a lot to due with who your manager is and where you work I am on the health side. Maybe the mutual fund side is more strict? Some people got raises some people got zero raise.

quitting may be good thing

the average increase in compensation for a worker who quits their old job for a new one is about 15 percent, says here https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/13/workers-are-quitting-their-jobs-in-order-to-get-raises.html

Yes it’s tough because the average worker is screwed over. The mid level managers don’t get that much after next year. They will squeeze out more cash and cost controls will be in place. Raises will be delayed and bonuses will be less next year as it’s ssnc. Don’t expect raises or bonuses to be paid out on time.
