Three people were let go on our campus today (a school on the "open" list), on Sept 25th there will be another RIF for chairpersons and some full-time faculty, and on Oct 5 there will be another RIF (this will be the last day for our HR department at our campus). If you are a full-time employee and don't have a backup plan in effect, you have no one to blame but yourself!

What school are you talking about?
Backup plan means gets your a$$ in gear, polish your resume and start looking now while you have an income. Don't count on severance.
Back up plans are not as easy as you make it sound!
